Initiative


 Initiative means to me to take control with out being asked.

I feel like I have taken so much more initiative this year than last year I feel like I know what is expected from me. 
The ways I show Initiative is site schools is:
I make sure the kids are doing there work 
when ever I see that there is pages that need to be in data folder I do it,
I try to not stand still 
I make sure the kids don't fight
stand behind kids that are talking so they stop talking
if the teacher has to step out of the room for whatever reason you should take charge and keep the room under control.
Walk around the room and help the kids without having to be told to do so.
I take the kids who don't understand what's happening and help them
Leadership 
Dynamism 
Drive
Ambition
Action

I took Initiative in my class when I walked in to class and one of my students wasn't having a good day and wouldn't do her work so I walked up to her and had a talk with her and got her to do her work

Initiative is important because it shows you can take charge and lead a group, it is a good characteristic that every teacher needs.

What will you do as a year 2



Scenario 1

You left campus for lunch and when you returned to campus you missed the bus that transports EAT interns to your field site campus.  You don’t have a car, but your boyfriend (girlfriend) said that he (she) could take you to your field site.  You took him (her) up on the offer.  When you boarded the bus to return to your home campus, another intern asked why you weren’t on the bus earlier.  You asked the intern not to point this out to your EAT teacher, Mrs. Crabby, since no harm was done.
I would tell my EAT Teacher , Because she has the first year ride the bus for safety and to make to the school on time.

Scenario 2

You are at your EAT field site.  Although you know you are supposed to have your phone put away at your field site, you check it and see that you have a message from another intern in your class.  He said that he had an early dismissal and left the field site campus just a little early, but when he did, he forgot to sign out.  You think this is a bit strange because you never saw him ride the bus to your field site in the first place, but you agree to sign him in and out because you want to let him know he can trust you. After all, Mrs. Meddlesome, your EAT teacher, stressed that it is important to establish relationships with your students and others with whom you work.
I would not sign in or sign out. I don't know if they actually showed up to site school.




Scenario 3

You have just arrived at your field site.  Your teacher is absent and you have a substitute.  Previously, you have been in charge of monitoring the reading groups each day, and even though you were not aware that your mentor teacher would be gone, you know that you need to follow the routine so the students will progress. The substitute tells you that she has everything under control and you may leave because there is nothing for you to do. You decide your field site mentor will have plenty of time to get the reading groups caught up tomorrow so you go to the classroom next door where your EAT friend is interning.  The two of you move to the corner of the room and work on homework the rest of the period so you won’t disturb anyone.
I would text my E.A.T teacher and my Site School teacher tell them that the substitute teacher told me that I’m not needed in the classroom and I can leave. If  my  E.A.T teacher and Site School teacher don’t respond to my text I will see if another teacher from the same grade need help. I wouldn’t  go to a class that my friend is at cause that will cause a distraction, and I wouldn’t go to the back of the class to do homework I’m there to learn to how to be a teacher and help out the kids if they have a question.

Scenario 4

You are about to change into your field site attire and realize you have forgotten your field site shirt and name badge.  The bus will be leaving in three minutes.  You have on jeans with holes, and a low cut top.  You saw Mrs. Petty, your BCTAL EAT teacher, at your field site yesterday.  Since you think she will not be stopping by to visit interns at your field site, you hop on the bus without your EAT attire, taking your chances that you will not be discovered.  After all, if your field site mentor teacher and principal don’t say anything, there is no harm done, right?

Wrong, We are allowed to go to field site. We are there to learn how to teach. We are not there to be a fashion show. There is a dress code for a reason. It's so we don't look bad. When we go to field sites we are representing BCTAL E.A.T.

My second first day as an intern!

My second first day as an intern was amazing. I’m an intern at North Ridge Elementary for Mrs. Tallon's kindergarten class aging this year. I'm there in the afternoon I get there for Recess and Writing then they go off to specials once they come back they have science and Social Studies.
This time it was different because the student ran up to me and hug me.

Field Trip to SMU and the President George W. Bush Museum and Library

We went in a trip to SMU and President George W.Bush Museum and Library. We first went to SMU 
In SMU the have a virtual reality of a classroom,The have 5 students. Ed,Maria,Cindy(CJ),Kevin,and Sean.The most insetting thing I saw was the virtual reality.It was like if the kids had there own mind.You can program the Students to have Learning Problems and Behavior Problems.



Next We went to President George W.Bush Museum and Library.It was really pictures, I didn't know he painted pictures of wounded warriors.9/11was a hard time for everyone President Bush didn't know what he was just as surprised as everyone else.

It all starts with a plan

The Teaching Channel video  is talking about the students knowing from fact or opinion.They will be telling there partner what they think it is.
Question to Consider
  1.   How does this lesson provide varied opportunities for students to use both discipline specific and general academic language?   The students are going to tell their partner if it’s a fact or a opinion, with using their academic language
  2.   What supports does Ms.Iwaszewicz offer her students in order for them to have successful academic conversation?  For the kindergartens’ to have a academic conversation the teachers have to breaking it down and gives them the tools.
  3.  How does Ms.Iwaszewicz strategically use partners?She put the students who barely know English to the students who are native speakers. The student ask there partner the question and then once the student answers the question the partner asks them why they think that.
